The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has summoned the executives of the latest edition of ABS-CBN's hit reality show "Pinoy Big Brother 737" over numerous feedback and complaints about the content of the show.
In a letter sent by MTRCB co-chairperson Ricardo Solomon Jr. has ordered Mr. Raymond Dizon, business unit head of ABS-CBN Corporation, together with seven program officers to attend developmental conference concerning children's rights and protection schedule on July 9. MTRCB said the dialogue is in connection with the "numerous feedback and complaints" they have received on the episodes of Pinoy Big Brother 737 on ABS-CBN channel 2 and also to Sky Premium Channel 85.
This is to ensure that the teen participants of the reality show are not exposed to situations that may be harmful to their well-being. MTRCB also expressed its concern over the possible negative impact of conveying such television content to the youth and avid teen fans of the show.
Even though MTRCB's letter didn't cite specific PBB episodes that warranted numerous complaints, PBB is facing criticisms over the brewing romance between teen housemates Bailey May Thomas, 12 years old and 16 years old Barbie Imperial. The behavior of the two teen male housemates Bailey May Thomas and Kenzo Gutierrez also drew attention after the two were seen holding hands, kissing and hugging each other recently.
